Our Story: How Five Little Quail Took Flight

Hello, friends! I’m Emilee—the proud mom, homesteader, and founder of Five Little Quail. Our little family—five spirited kiddos (an adventurous 8-year-old big sibling, two-year-old triplets, and our one-year-old bundle of joy)—has turned a simple backyard hobby into a feathered passion that fills our homestead with life, laughter, and the pitter-patter of tiny quail feet.

Life threw us a curveball when our beautiful triplets arrived early and spent four long months in the NICU with special needs. Those days were full of beeping monitors, sterile hallways, and worry-filled nights. When we finally brought our babies home, I took time off work to be there for every feeding, every therapy session, every milestone. I needed something uplifting to balance the challenge—and that’s when the quail eggs hatched my next big adventure!

What started as a few quail chicks in a corner of our backyard quickly snowballed into:

• A growing brood of feathered friends and coturnix hatching eggs
• Dozens of petite, nutrient-packed coturnix quail eggs to share
• An educational playground for our curious kiddos

Every morning, our children race out to greet our quail flock—collecting eggs, filling waterers, and learning responsibility in the most joyful way. Those first fragile eggs reminded us that hope and healing can come in the smallest packages.
